Prints and Delivery

UPDATE - CHRISTMAS 2023

The last order date for un-mounted prints (UK delivery only) is Friday 15th December.  Orders received after these dates will be processed in the New Year.

PRINTS

Our images are printed to order via Epson Inkjet printers, using Epson inks. Our photographic and artwork images are printed on 250 gsm Semi-Matt Photographic paper, our maps are printed on single-weight Epson plain paper.

Please note. Prints come from original photographs and negatives, most of which are over 100 years old, often these do not fit into standard modern print sizes. Therefore, images are printed to the requested longest side and there is a possibility they may not fit into standard frames.

DELIVERY CHARGES

  • UK (£5), Europe (£8), Worldwide (£16).
  • UK orders are sent by Royal Mail 1st class.
  • Overseas orders are sent by Royal Mail recorded Airmail, and delivery times may vary.

CUSTOMS IMPORT DUTIES / TAXES

Please note customs import duties / taxes may be charged once a parcel reaches its destination country. Customs policies / duties are widely variable. If ordering from outside the UK please do check with your local customs office before placing an order, as we cannot be held responsible for these charges.

DELIVERY TIMES

Un-mounted prints are printed with a small white border for mounting purposes. They are dispatched directly from the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) by 1st class post and will be sent to UK customers within 5-7 working days on receipt of your order. Un-mounted prints are dispatched either flat in reinforced packaging or in strong cardboard tubes, depending on the print size requested.

Mounted prints are printed at the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) and sent to our framer for mounting. A5 prints (7 x 9" mounts), A4 prints (12 x 16" mounts), A3 prints (16 x 20" mounts). All mounts come hinged to backing-board of the same material. *Mounted prints are currently taking between 3-4 weeks. Mounted prints are posted flat in reinforced packaging.

RGS collection. If you have selected to collect your print from us, an email will be sent to you as soon as the order is ready for collection; this will include address details and collection times.
